MF Skid Standard

applies to MF FG and VN M Series softeners.
System shall be mounted on a blue epoxy coated carbon steel skid.
Controls shall be pre-wired using non-metallic liquid-tite flex conduit.
Vessels shall be bolted to the skid. The skid shall be pre-piped with
piping firmly supported on the skid. Pipe supports shall be U-bolts on
2” angle iron or Unistrut. Standard skid piping shall include schedule
40 grooved or threaded galvanized pipe for the inlet and outlet. Brine
line shall be poly propylene tubing or solvent welded schedule 80 PVC.
Drain lines shall be (¾” or 1 ½” solvent welded schedule 80 PVC). Inlet
and outlet isolation valves for each vessel and a bypass valve shall be
provided. 1 ½” and 2” valves shall be threaded quarter turn cast bronze
ball valves with stainless steel ball. 2 ½” and larger valves shall be
grooved quarter turn cast iron body butterfly valves. Slots shall be
provided in the skid for forklift tines. Piping and vessels shall be
hydro test at 100 psi for 1 hour. Pressure gauges and test tap kits
shall be installed. Internals for vessels 48 inches and larger in
diameter (model 1200) shall ship loose to avoid damage during transit.
Models 150 – 750 shall ship with the brine tank mounted on the skid.
For models 900 and larger both mineral tanks shall be mounted on a
single skid and the brine tank shall not be mounted on the skid and
shall ship loose. Media shall ship loose and must be loaded on site.
Single point electrical connection shall be provided for all skids.
Power requirement shall be 110V, 1Ø, 60 Hz, 5 AMPS. (Drive motor is
3.2 amps and solenoid is 10.5 Watts.)
