Upgrading
HF Task Master 2 and 2 ½" systems to MF Task Master III Superflow
Systems
(06/25/09)
If you have an HF model system
with the discontinued brass 2" or 2 ½" valve, it can be upgraded to the
new MF superflow system with the new Taskmaster III SS valve, and ERC
electronic regeneration controller. Conversion requires the following components:
1) New Taskmaster III valve (707150-XX) To purchase the
correct valve, we must know the system model number and also must know the
operating scheme - Simplex, twin, twin alternating, etc. If you know
the part number of your existing HF valve use the
conversion chart.
2) Superflow Kit (SFK). The existing system may or may not
have a shut off kit. All HF upgrades must have an SFK consisting of two
diaphragm valves, a solenoid and appropriate tubing and fittings. To
purchase the correct SFK you must know the inlet and outlet pipe size and
whether or not the brine eductor is internal or external (IE - internal
eductor or EE - Exteral Eductor).
3) Side mount tank adaptor (Part No. 720216).
4) Paddle Wheel Assembly (Part No
500850 OR 500851-50). If the system is
demand regenerated then you must purchase a new paddle wheel assembly
since the TM III uses a special plug. Assuming you are using one of Water
King's PW series meters, the new paddle wheel is a direct replacement for
the old one and will not require a new meter body.
5) Face Piping. The piping on the softener must be changed
to accommodate the Taskmaster III. Water King can provide the upgrade
components preassembled with piping included. (See drawing) Field piping
will consist of making connections to the inlet, outlet, drain, tank inlet
and tank outlet. The SFK piping requires precision fitting to prevent
stressing of the tank adaptor and other piping. Face piping is
optional since it can be done in on site.
Saving existing diaphragm valves. It is possible to use
existing diaphragm valves as part of the upgraded system. Tell us and we
will reduce to price of the SFK to reflect the use of existing valves.
